PR Work Sample: World Chess Hall of Fame

The World Chess Hall of Fame is a unique cultural institution that is truly a treasure for St. Louis.  It has provided me with the opportunity to meet world-class artists, promote exhibitions on a international level, and be a part of the local arts scene in new and exciting ways.

PR Work Sample: Old Webster Jazz & Blues Festival

I was asked by the board of the Old Webster Jazz & Blues Festival to increase awareness of their event starting in 2010 and have been pleased to work with them every year since.  I handles press releases, coordination, and all appearances.  The festival drew a record number of music fans to this historic district in 2013.

PR Work Sample: Back-to-School WaHoo! at The Boulevard Saint Louis

Parents: rejoice!  The kids are back to school and it’s time to have a little fun.  I helped team members at Pace Properties plan an event at The Boulevard Saint Louis that would be easy for their various tenants to participate in, would have broad appeal, and could be quickly implemented.  The Back-to-School WaHoo! met all these needs while also doing good for our charity partner, College Bound St. Louis.

A special thank you to Kristin Keane and Lisa LaVelle at Pace for being so fun to work with.

Pyramid Companies Announce St. Louis Centre Plans

As the director of marketing for The Pyramid Companies, I was responsible for leading all marketing and public relations efforts of the then-largest developer in the metro region.  There was national as well as local attention when we announced plans to recreate the area surrounding the former St. Louis Centre shopping mall in downtown St. Louis.

The press conference to announce the project was carried on all local news networks and included speakers such as Mayor Francis Slay and Governor Matt Blunt:

PR Work Sample: Pudd’nhead Books

As the daughter of an English teacher, books have always been an important part of my life.  When a new independent store opened up in Webster Groves, I knew I wanted to help them find success.

Pudd’nhead Books is owned by Nikki Furrer, and she absolutely knows her stuff.  She’s one of the funniest, coolest, smartest people you’ll ever meet.  I’ve helped her publicize events and, most recently, put together a press kit for her annual trip to schmooze with New York’s publishing community.

PR Work Sample: Holiday Campaign for Old Orchard Merchant’s Association

Old Orchard Merchant District

I’ve worked with the Old Orchard Merchant Association’s on promoting several of their events, but the holiday season has to be my favorite.  We had an enormous mailbox built to collect Letters to Santa – dropping the annual wish list has become a treaured tradition for many local families. One year we had the good fortune to plan our holiday push at the same time that the ScholarShop, a neighbor, was set to hold a one-time-only sale of vintage dresses.  It created a real win-win: the neighborhood was able to capitalize on the draw of the sale and the ScholarShop benefited from the efforts of the merchant’s forward-thinking PR push.

PR Work Sample: Finale Fridays in Webster Groves

KSDK Interview at Three Sinks Gallery

I worked with the merchants in Webster Groves to get coverage of their Finale Friday shopping series, which offers special pricing and promotions to patrons on the last Friday of each month throughout 2010.

Show Me St. Louis gave us a full 2:30 segment at the top of the show, which was especially appreciated due to the charitable component of this initial Finale Friday.

Three Sinks Gallery held an art auction and donated 100% of the proceeds to relief efforts following the earthquake in Haiti.  Many of the merchants pulled together and donated food, beverage, and a commemorative Tshirt for the event.

This is just another example of why I love Webster Groves!
